30-Day Charity Challenge

I usually don’t come up with a New Years resolution because historically I suck at actually following the resolution. This year I am determined to come up with a resolution and follow it intensely. This year my resolution is to become more charitable. This will actually be an easy task because I have not really been that charitable in the past. Basically I rarely donated my time and I only gave money to my church. This year I want to give my time, money, and love. I came up with an idea to jump-start my resolution by starting a 30-day charity challenge starting January 1st. During the first 30 days of the year I will give everyday. Here are the following rules that I came up with for my 30-day charity challenge.

1.     Give everyday for the first 30 days of 2012.
2.     Gifts can be Time, Money, or Love (caring)
3.     Do not give the same gift twice. Example cannot donate to the same place twice.
4.     Must come up with at least one unique or unusual way to give.

This will be a pretty big challenge for me considering I have two jobs and go to school, so in order to complete my goal I have come up with a plan. I will break the 30 days down week by week and plan ahead how I will give for that particular upcoming week.

I would like to get others to join me with the 30-day charity challenge. I encourage followers to email me either daily, or weekly and tell me about their progress and giving. I will post some of the emails, and I will also post what the most generous and most unique gifts were. Don’t think you could give for 30 days straight? I thought so too, but then I tried to come up with as many ideas for giving as possible and actually planned out a full week. I realized that giving for 30 days does not need to be expensive and there is a huge amount of different ways to give that are easy and fun. If you need any ideas shoot me an email.
