First G for Give(3)

Me and my girlfriend Jaime are members of the Waukee YMCA. Its a great place to work out, but it is also an organization dedicated to bringing communities together. During the holiday season the Y displays a Christmas tree with paper ordainments that have descriptions of local children, and what they want for Christmas. All the children on the tree are from families who cannot afford gifts. As I read through the hanging ordainments I couldn't help but pull one from the tree and purchase the gift. The ordainment that I pulled from the tree was for a 12 year old boy who wanted a football. I thought back to when I was 12 and remembered all the good times I had playing backyard football and 500. I'm so happy that me and Jaime decided to purchase a gift for one of the children. This simple purchase of 16 dollars brought me joy and I'm sure the football will bring a lot of joy to the boy and his friends.
check out YMCA's website to see the various ways they work towards youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. http://www.ymca.net/

  1. I know how much fun Val has with his football. Such a good gift for a little boy! I'm excited to see what other ideas you come up with for this project!
Hope you're planning on sharing pictures too-- I miss your photography!
